Quick Log and voice notes without leaving the work

Capture a research decision from Excel, Word, Numbers or Pages using a small Quick Log window or local voice transcription.

How can researchers document data work without interrupting it?

Use a lightweight capture tool at the moment a decision is made. SepiaLog’s Quick Log records a memo for the most recent project without requiring the researcher to leave the application where the data work is happening.

The research problem

Documentation habits often fail because the note-taking tool is elsewhere. A researcher finishes a transformation in a spreadsheet, intends to document it later, and moves immediately to the next task.

How the workflow works

  1. Open Quick Log from SepiaLog, the desktop shortcut or tray/menu-bar item.
  2. Type a short memo or dictate it using local transcription.
  3. Save it to the most recently opened project with its tags and context.
